Communications and Charities Intern (12-month fixed term contract)

Community has always been at the heart of Manchester City Football Club. We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic intern to join us on a 12-month contract to play an important role in supporting our Communications department with activities across Public Relations, Marketing and Internal Communications, with ownership of the charity and community support.

The Club has a global communications outreach and receives hundreds of charitable requests each month. To support with this success, the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Helping the Communications team to generate positive PR to highlight the good news stories of the Club.
  • Support the Communications Department in identifying opportunities for potential initiatives to enhance the reputation of Manchester City and present such initiatives for approval.
  • Support the facilitation of filming and media requests within the areas of PR and MarComms.
  • Respond to, sort and file all requests (by mail and online) for signed merchandise using the Sales Force systemin line with the Club’s charitable giving policy.
  • Undertake research projects as and when required supporting the communications activity of various departments.
  • The successful candidate will assist in the co-ordination and delivery of ‘Wish Granting’ visits on matchday and non-matchdays so we are looking for someone who doesn’t mind working at weekends and during evenings where required.

The successful candidate will have excellent administrative, organisational, written and verbal communication skills. It’s essential that they are highly organised with the ability to prioritise their workload to meet deadlines. Relationships are key in this role, and it is therefore important that they are able to build productive working relationships with people at all levels from all backgrounds.  Finally, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and driven, with a career interest public relations and a genuine interest in good causes and charitable initiatives.

Business Intelligence Executive

The Business Intelligence function is based in London, and plays a critical role in supporting the Partnership department in their major objective of securing new and renewing existing partners for all CFG properties (Manchester City Football Club, New York City Football Club, Melbourne City Football Club, Manchester City Women’s Football Club and the Yokohama F. Marinos).  It allows City Football Marketing to stay abreast of the latest football and sports industry news and develop a competitive advantage in the sales process through the presentation of relevant category, geography and company analysis.

The Business Intelligence Executive role plays a key part in our continued commercial growth.  The main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Researching key categories, geographies and companies to identify strategic fit with CFG
  • Conducting sales support activities (lead generation, initial prospecting)
  • Providing relevant market intelligence
  • Tracking asset and media valuations, including monitoring availability
  • Obtaining and monitoring fan-related statistics across CFG clubs
  • Identifying key trends and movements in the football / sports industry

This role is intended to be an excellent introduction into the commercial drivers of a football business, particularly within the Partnership Sales function.  As well as being critical to the success of the department as a whole, the role is an ideal springboard for a successful career within CFG and the sports industry.

Successful candidates will have a good understanding of the sports industry; competitive intelligence activities and market research. CityTV Commercial Content Producer

An amazing opportunity has arisen within the CityTV team for a Commercial Content Producer to join the action. This role will be responsible for producing and delivering video content for the Clubs internal departments including partnerships & marketing with a real focus on the editing side of production.

Working alongside the CityTV Producers, Social Media team and Partnerships Marketing team; as well as plenty of internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for the end to end delivery of video for departments within Manchester City. This would include working with external agencies to deliver and edit footage to an exceptional standard, having creative development and direction.

The successful candidate will have a real passion and knowledge for all-things football, video production and distribution. You will be an exceptional communicator and be able to develop relationships with colleagues & external stakeholders.

You must be a strong editor with the ability provide multiple bespoke versions of the same content for various platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Vine, Facebook, .com, etc). You’ll be equally confident shooting on Sony FS5, Panasonic GH5, Canon C300, Sony PMW200 or equivalent by yourself or as part of a bigger crew on multi-camera shoots. You will know how different platforms operate and know what annotations and cards are on YouTube.

The successful candidate will report to the Facilities Director and will play an integral role to drive the continuous development, delivery and overall improvement of all catering services across Manchester City Football Club and City Football Group in the UK to ensure delivery of a world class catering experience.  The role encompasses managing a diverse range of in-house operations and outsourced catering services.

This is a key role in contributing to the Company’s strategy of delivering a world-class catering experience and will require a strategic leader who is able to provide vision, direction to achieve objectives and can motivate, inspire and develop both in-house teams and partner service providers to exceed the varying demands of all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a Senior Management role in similar environment and will have the ability to lead, inspire and motivate others whilst demonstrating flexibility and adaptability within a team environment.

BTEC OFFICER

City in the Community Foundation are recruiting a BTEC Officer to join the team in Manchester.

City in The Community Foundation are looking for a BTEC Officer to lead on all coaching aspects of our BTEC Level 3 programme.

Applicants must possess a passion for sport and have experience of working within an education environment and delivering pastoral support to students.  They should also have the desire to develop their own skills and knowledge in a high performance working environment. 

The BTEC Officer role will involve overseeing all BTEC delivery at a specific site, being responsible for the CITC use of the facility and managing all delivery coaches based at the sites including the lead coach. Other responsibilities include:

  • Work in partnership with the lead coach and other BTEC staff to schedule session delivery.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with teaching staff and education provider. Work closely to develop an innovative and exciting curriculum.
  • Lead on all recruitment events for site and build links with local schools and careers advisors.

 

The role will be full time (37.5hours) and will consist of overseeing the different delivery sites alongside managing the partnership with each college/sixth form. The role will consist of managing each BTEC delivery coach at the sites, and maintaining the high quality of curriculum delivery.

DEGREE OFFICER

City in the Community Foundation are recruiting a Degree Officer to join the team in Manchester.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To manage and support all mentoring staff within the WBL element of the programme
  • To undertake pastoral support duties with all students on programme
  • To be a key member of education staff ensuring all aspects of funding are adhered to.
  • To advise WBL tutors on administrative matters relating to the WBL module
  • To build effective relationships with placement providers, students and University departments and advise all parties on issues relating to the day-to-day operation of WBL
  • To plan the timetable, structure and requirements of the WBL module
  • To develop and maintain mechanisms for effective communication with students

 

The role will be full time (37.5hours) and will consist of working closely with MMU to implement and deliver a high quality work based learning (WBL) programme for students. LEAD BTEC COACH

  • To oversee all BTEC staff at the venue and be responsible for delivery standards.

11+ Education Manager

City in the Community is the Charitable Trust of Manchester City FC, established in 1986 and having undergone significant revenue and staff growth in the last three years, the charity is now looking to expand our leadership team to support the development of the internal team.

We are looking for a full time 11+Education Manager to join the team in Manchester. The 11+ Education Manager will be responsible for managing multiple programme areas across the education sector while ensuring programmes are delivered with the upmost quality while maximising outcomes.

The successful candidate will be accountable for all 11+ Education programmes inclusive of finances and partnership management while supporting the Head of Department in the strategic and operational delivery of the theme. You will also play an integral role supporting organisations that work alongside CITC in the Alternative, High School, Further and Higher Education sector.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead on all aspects of 11+ education, further education and higher education for CITC
  • Manage the CITC Education Team
  • Manage all finances relating to the programmes
  • Responsible for quality assurance and monitoring reports associated with the projects

The Early Years Manager will be responsible for overseeing the PL funded City Play Programme in accordance with the EYFS curriculum and ensuring the programme is delivered with the upmost quality while maximising outcomes. They will be fully accountable for all Early Years and City Play programmes inclusive of finances and partnership management while supporting the head of department in the strategic and operational delivery of the theme. They will also be the operational point of contact for organisations working alongside CITC in all Nursery Schools and Nursery School settings.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 
  • To lead on all aspects of Early Years provision and City Play programme for CITC
  • To lead, manage, guide and support the team of CITC Early Years staff
  • To manage all direct reports related to relevant programmes inclusive of managing regular meetings setting SMART objectives and monitoring performance
  • To manage and be fully accountable for all finances related to all named programmes within the theme, inclusive of fundraising, setting budgets and management of income and costs
  • To be fully accountable for all quality assurance and all monitoring reports associated to the project and be able to manage successful outcomes against CITC KPI’s
  • To lead on the strategic development of the theme supported by the Senior Operations Manager when required

School Sports coach

Job purpose

City in The Community Foundation are looking for a full-time school sports coach to assist with the delivery of the School Sports Programme.  This position will be 37.5 hours per week.

Applicants must possess a passion for sport and ideally have experience of working within a school environment delivering towards the national curriculum.  They should also have the desire to develop their own skills and knowledge in a high performance working environment. 

The full-time role will consist of planning and delivering practical sports sessions in both a school and community environment. As well as delivering outstanding sessions, the successful applicant will also be expected to maintain and develop excellent relationships with schools and with the wider CITC team.            

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to progress their sports coaching career and to gain valuable experience working within a Premier League Community Foundation.
