Performance Analysts 

Manchester City Football Club are recruiting Performance Analysts to join the Academy Performance Analysis team, based at the City Football Academy in Manchester.

We are recruiting four positions, requiring varying levels of experience and knowledge:

- Loan Teams Performance Analyst, Internship (Global Football)
U23 Performance Analyst
U18 Performance Analyst
U12-14 Performance Analyst

Reporting to the Head of Performance Analysis, Academy & Women’s Programme, the Performance Analysts will contribute to the overall daily function of a multi-disciplinary team of staff working across the designated age groups. They will be responsible for further developing an already well-established age appropriate model for performance analysis – contributing to all four corners of player development.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Film and capture games, training and other educational content.
- Produce age and learning style appropriate analysis sessions for groups, but most importantly individual players (fun, engaging, interactive).
- Produce additional video and data content to support wider City Football Group / MCFC Academy needs e.g. football methodology staff meetings, parent’s night presentations, scouting & recruitment etc.
- Contribute to the development and management of best practice video libraries for use of all City Football Group analysts.
- Create opposition scouting analysis in order to support game plan creation for relevant competitions.

We are looking for candidates who have proven experience in the filming, capturing and analysing of video for delivery to individuals and groups. They must have vision to create fun, engaging and interactive content. It is important that candidates are competent in the use of Sports Code, Final Cut & Coach Paint (or similar software). They must also have an appropriate level of football knowledge/game understanding for the designated age group. Experience of working in a youth development environment is essential along with undergraduate study in Sport Coaching, Science, Performance or other relevant areas.

Most importantly, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the personality and skills needed to quickly build relationships and rapport with players, parents and other members of Academy staff (coaches, S&C, physios, player welfare, education).

Marketing Communications Manager (12 months fixed term contract)

We are recruiting a Marketing Communications Manager to join the Group’s Communications Department on a fixed term basis.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing Communications the Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for communicating City Football Group’s commercial, partner-focused and some corporate activities. Areas of particular focus will include the Group’s partners and fans, requiring a sound knowledge and understanding of the Group’s range of assets, products and infrastructure. The successful candidate will support the development and delivery of marketing communications plans and activities which uphold and sustain the reputation and public perception of City Football Group, our clubs and our businesses.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head of Marketing Communications in developing and executing a global marketing communications strategy
  • Drafting communications collateral and materials, press releases, biographies, speeches, award submissions and briefing notes
  • Providing strategic communications support for the Group’s commercial activities and partners
  • Delivering international communications support for all international activity, including fan events and international football schools
  • Acting as a brand ambassador to ensure our identity and values are properly represented as we communicate with our fans and a broad range of other audiences

The ideal candidate will have experience of a marketing communications roles in a corporate/commercial environment, with a sound understanding of football as a global sport and its related revenue streams. It is essential that applicants have outstanding written and presentational skills, with a strong grasp of media relations and experience to support that. Applicants must be flexible and patient, with strong negotiation skills. Finally, we are looking for a team player who can well work across their own and different teams across the business.

Director of Fan Relationship Management

We are recruiting an experienced Director of Fan Relationship Management to join the team. The FRM team’s primary goal is to build fan engagement and fan base growth across all territories and channels through an understanding of individual’s behaviours, needs and tailored campaigns and activations.

The Director of FRM is responsible for defining the Group FRM strategy across all CFG Clubs and managing the Manchester City strategy. They will be rolling out best practice across all Clubs on a global scale and owning the strategic CRM execution across all fan touchpoints while also growing and extracting value from the database through engagement, fan lifecycle management and campaigns.

Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of CRM strategy and procedures, with an ability to think, plan and act strategically. Demonstrable experience in a fast-paced environment, driving B2C relationships and CRM strategies is essential. Candidates will need to have significant experience and knowledge across marketing disciplines, including; customer insights, digital marketing, loyalty and event activation.

IT Marketing and Media Category Manager

We are recruiting an experienced Category Manager to join the Group’s Procurement Department.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement the Category Manager will lead the IT, Media and Marketing Procurement Category and will be responsible for driving commercial value and operational benefits. This will be achieved through developing and executing new category strategies, delivery of embedded governance and controls, a culture of process improvement and adding value through Supplier Relationship Management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing & managing the execution and performance of a Category Management programme
  • Adopting a holistic commercial approach, encompassing the entire spend/activity profile with the category
  • Delivery of cost saving initiatives, mitigating business risk and improving sustainability impact
  • Driving continuous improvement with suppliers and through the internal organisation
  • Developing & implementing a preferred supplier list for each category and manage compliance through the ERP system
  • Negotiating with suppliers

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of end to end category management and strategic sourcing methodologies. They will be able to demonstrate supplier relationship management capability, a total cost of ownership mentality and understanding of key management approaches. Candidates must have proven capability in negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management, being able to lead and manage in a global, matrix environment. Demonstrable experience of procurement, project management, risk management, cost reduction and value improvement programmes is essential. Finally, candidates must be, as a minimum, studying towards their MCIPS or have a relevant/equivalent degree.

School Sports Coach (Casual)

City in The Community Foundation are looking for community coaches to assist with the delivery of the School Sports Programme. Due to variable demands in sessions, coaches will be engaged on a casual basis.

Applicants must possess a passion for sport and have experience of working within a school environment delivering towards the national curriculum. They should also have the desire to develop their own skills and knowledge in a high performance working environment.

The role will consist of planning and delivering practical sports sessions in both a school and community environment. As well as delivering outstanding sessions, the successful applicant will also be expected to maintain and develop excellent relationships with schools and with the wider CITC team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to progress their sports coaching career and to gain valuable experience working within a Premier League Community Foundation.
